The AYBS Alumni Association is pleased to share key updates and highlights from the final quarter of 2025. This period marked important developments in school leadership, strengthened alumni–school engagement, and continued commitment to community well-being and impact-driven initiatives.
Introduction of New School Administration
We are pleased to introduce Ato Amanuel Tesfaye, the newly appointed School Administrator. Ato. Amanuel brings over 27 years of experience in educational leadership, including many years of distinguished service at Bethel Evangelical Secondary School in Western Wollega.
Renowned for his collaborative leadership style and strong belief in teamwork, Ato Amanuel is guided by the principle: “United we stand, divided we fall.” He is committed to fostering close collaboration with teachers, students, alumni, and the wider school community to strengthen academic excellence and institutional growth.
Recently, representatives of the AYBS Alumni Association in Addis Ababa met with Ato Amanuel to exchange perspectives and align on priority areas for collaboration in 2026 and beyond.

Discussions focused on how alumni can support the school through:
Scholarships for high-performing students in need
Engagement of volunteer and guest teachers
Teacher training and professional development
Improved access to learning resources and digital tools
These shared priorities reflect a collective commitment to equity, academic quality, and long-term institutional strength.
Ato Amanuel warmly invites alumni to reconnect with their alma mater, contribute ideas and expertise, and stand alongside the BMYS community as it works toward restoring its former strength and excellence. The Alumni Association looks forward to building a renewed and impactful partnership in this new chapter.
