Making a Difference Through Technology
In this quarter, we are proud to highlight how your contributions are driving meaningful change in education. Thanks to the ongoing support from the AYBS Alumni Association, in partnership with Dell Technologies and Camara Education, a major milestone was achieved in 2024 with the installation of 35 new computers at Bethel Mekane Eyesus School.
This initiative aimed to transform the teaching and learning experience for both students and teachers. Today, we are excited to share the positive outcomes that have unfolded since then.

Project Impact
35 computers installed in the school’s new computer lab.
20 teachers and 233 students trained in digital literacy and educational technology.
Monthly follow-up support provided, including:
Student orientations on navigating learning tools.
Teacher support in lesson preparation using digital resources.
Site Visit: Progress in Action
During a recent site visit to Bethel Mekane Eyesus School, the AYBS team witnessed firsthand how technology is transforming the classroom environment. The computer lab has become an active hub of learning, collaboration, and growth. Teachers are using digital tools to enhance lessons, while students are independently exploring subjects, improving their typing skills, and even venturing into coding and design.
Voices from the Students

Maramawit, Student
"Before, we had computers at our school, but there were not enough for all of us. Sometimes we had to wait a long time for our turn, and it was hard to practice properly. Now, with the 35 new computers, things have started to change. We each get more chances to practice, explore, and understand what we are doing... More of us are learning new programs, typing faster, and even starting to teach ourselves coding and design. Thank you for giving us this opportunity to grow. You didn’t just bring more computers — you brought us more chances, more dreams, and more reasons to believe in ourselves."

Simele Ajema, Student
"With the 35 new computers, we are starting to see real changes! More of us can sit down and start working right away... I’ve learned how to type faster, how to do research for my homework, and how to make a presentation! It’s fun to come to class now. Sometimes we even help each other and show our friends new tricks we learn."
Looking Ahead
The transformation at Bethel Mekane Eyesus School is just the beginning. AYBS remains committed to ensuring that every student — regardless of background — has access to the tools needed to succeed in the 21st century. We thank all our partners and alumni for their continued support.

The Asmarech (Ms. Bimba) Kebede Abozin Scholarship Fund – Empowering Bright Futures Through Education
We are proud to announce the establishment of the Asmarech (Ms. Bimba) Kebede Abozin Scholarship, launching in the upcoming school year. This scholarship honors the legacy of Ms. Bimba, a cherished alumna of BMYS and a lifelong educator who passionately nurtured young minds. Her unwavering belief in the transformative power of education continues to inspire us.
In partnership with Ms. Bimba’s family, this scholarship will be awarded to one 9th-grade student who completes the application process and meets the selection criteria. It will provide full tuition, school essentials, and mentorship support, ensuring the recipient has the tools needed to thrive academically and personally.
We are deeply grateful to Ms. Bimba’s family for choosing BMYS as the place to carry forward her mission of empowering young girls through education.
