Welcome to the AYBS Alumni Association (“AYBS Alumni,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) website. By accessing or using our website, becoming a member, making a donation, or participating in our programs or events, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use our website or services.

1. About Us

AYBS Alumni Association is an alumni association created by former students of Bethel Mekane Yesus, formerly known as American Mission and Yehiwot Berhan School.

The Association exists to support alumni engagement and advance initiatives that benefit students and the broader school community. Our activities include alumni networking, scholarships, mentorship programs, fundraising initiatives, female hygiene support programs, and educational improvement projects.

AYBS Alumni Association operates as an independent nonprofit organization and is not owned or controlled by the school administration.

2. Eligibility for Membership

  • Membership is open to graduates and former students of AYBS, and other supporters approved by the Association.

  • Members must provide accurate and complete information during registration.

  • AYBS Alumni reserves the right to approve, deny, suspend, or terminate membership at its discretion if conduct violates these Terms or the Association’s values.

 

3. Membership Contributions & Donations

  • Membership fees and donations are voluntary and support scholarships, mentorship programs, female hygiene initiatives, alumni events, administrative costs, and educational improvement projects.

  • All payments are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.

  • AYBS Alumni reserves the right to modify membership fees with reasonable notice.

 

4. Use of Website

By using this website, you agree:

  • Not to misuse, hack, disrupt, or attempt unauthorized access to the website.

  • Not to upload harmful, offensive, defamatory, or unlawful content.

  • Not to use the website for fraudulent or illegal activities.

We reserve the right to suspend or block users who violate these terms.

All content on this website—including logos, text, graphics, documents, and images—is the property of AYBS Alumni Association unless otherwise stated.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or use our materials without written permission.

6. Events & Programs

  • Registration may be required for events.

  • Event participation is subject to availability.

  • AYBS Alumni reserves the right to modify, postpone, or cancel events.

  • By attending events, you agree to conduct yourself respectfully and professionally.​

 

7. Media & Photo Release

AYBS Alumni Association may photograph, audio record, or video record events, programs, meetings, and related activities for documentation, promotional, educational, reporting, and archival purposes.

By attending or participating in any AYBS Alumni Association event or program, you acknowledge and consent to the use of your name, image, likeness, and/or voice in newsletters, websites, social media platforms, printed materials, fundraising materials, and other official communications without compensation.

Individuals who do not wish to have their image, likeness, or voice captured or used must notify the Association in writing prior to the event by emailing aybsalumniassociation@gmail.com. Alternatively, attendees may notify event organizers upon arrival. AYBS Alumni Association will make reasonable and good-faith efforts to honor such requests; however, we cannot guarantee exclusion from incidental or background appearances in group or public event photography.

 

8. Privacy

We respect your privacy. Personal information collected through the website or membership registration will be used for communication, administration, and organizational purposes only. We do not sell personal information to third parties.

 

9. Third-Party Links

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. AYBS Alumni is not responsible for the content, security, or practices of external sites.

 

10. Limitation of Liability

AYBS Alumni Association is not liable for:
